This blog is a dedication to a true understanding of Latinx representation in media as there is often an over display of misrepresentation of Latinx culture within mass media. I aim to create a clear meaning of the importance of "good" and proper representation. While doing so, I will touch upon the harmful effects of stereotypical representation, Afro-Latina experiences in Hollywood, and the real-life impact of Encanto and the different forms of representation that were exemplified throughout. While speaking to proper representation I would be remised not to review West Side Story as it failed to truly represent Latinx experiences.
